You’re doing your closet clean out wrong
Did you know that most women only wear 20% of their wardrobe 80% of the time? Your wardrobe should be matched to your lifestyle.
The way to properly organize a closet is in three piles. A keep pile, might keep pile, and a must go pile.
So how do you decide what goes in which pile? You should ask yourself two questions is it the right color and is it the right style? If it is a yes to both of those questions it goes in the keep pile. If it’s the right style, but the wrong color and vice versa ask yourself if you can style it/ wear it differently if yes then it goes in the maybe keep pile. However, if it’s the wrong color and wrong style, then it goes into the must go pile.
Helpful tips
Keep pile:
- organize by categories (color, type, etc)
- Button up any jackets/ coats make sure zippers are up when you hang everything
- Have garment‘s face the same way
- Only put things back into the closet if clean
- Don’t overcrowd your closet (if you can help it lol)
Maybe keep:
- check every piece against what you already have in your closet
- See if any alterations are needed
- Changing the buttons on jackets can give it new life
Must go:
- Give to a friend
- Sell expensive items and those that are still current and a good quality
- Donate to thrift store
