Personal experience discussing these topics within theological education programs reveals it’s common for individuals to move through stages of belief influenced by culture, education, and personal reflection. The notion that atheism requires definition against theism supports the idea that these belief systems coexist in a dynamic, dialogic relationship. In practical terms, this insight encourages respectful dialogue between theists and atheists, recognizing that belief systems develop over time and experience. Awareness and understanding are keys to how people adopt or reject particular worldviews.
