pack my bag with me (:
Packing for a trip can sometimes feel like a puzzle, but for me, it's actually one of the most exciting parts of the travel planning process! There’s something so satisfying about getting everything organized and ready for a new adventure. So, come along and pack my bag with me as I share my tried-and-true method for making sure I have everything I need without overpacking. My first step, long before I even open my suitcase, is always planning. I check the weather at my destination, review my itinerary, and think about all the activities I'll be doing. Are there fancy dinners? Hiking trails? Beach days? This helps me create a mental (or sometimes physical!) checklist. When it comes to clothes, versatility is key! I always try to pack items that can be mixed and matched to create multiple outfits. Rolling my clothes tightly is a game-changer for saving space and minimizing wrinkles – it truly works wonders! If I’m going for a longer trip, packing cubes are my absolute best friend. They keep everything neatly organized and compressed, making it super easy to find what I need without rummaging through my entire bag. For shoes, I usually wear my bulkiest pair on the plane and stuff socks or small items inside the others to maximize space. Next up are toiletries. I’ve learned the hard way that travel-sized everything is a must! I decant my favorite shampoo and conditioner into smaller bottles, and solid toiletries like shampoo bars or deodorant sticks are fantastic space-savers. Don't forget the 3-1-1 rule for liquids in your carry-on if you're flying! Tech essentials are non-negotiable for me. This usually includes my phone charger, a portable power bank, headphones, and a universal adapter if I’m traveling internationally. I keep these in a small pouch so they're easy to access. And of course, my passport, wallet, and any important documents always stay in a secure, easily accessible spot, usually a small crossbody bag that I keep with me at all times. A little tip I’ve picked up over the years: always leave a bit of space in your bag! This is crucial for any souvenirs you might pick up along the way. Also, I make sure to put a change of clothes, any essential medications, and valuable items like jewelry in my carry-on, just in case my checked bag gets delayed. Packing might seem daunting, but with a little planning and these simple strategies, you can make it a breeze. I hope this peek into how I pack my bag with me gives you some inspiration for your next journey! What are your must-have packing tips? I'd love to hear them!
