As a true 'school girlie' at heart, I wanted my first post to be something authentic to my everyday life – and what's more authentic than my study space? You might have caught a glimpse, but let me tell you more about my little academic sanctuary. My trusty HP laptop is the command center for all my projects, especially for courses like 'Reducing Inequality.' It's a topic I'm really passionate about, and having a dedicated, comfortable space makes tackling complex readings so much easier. I always make sure to have my pink water bottle nearby to stay hydrated – seriously, it makes such a difference during long study sessions! And for those quick reminders or important concepts I need to remember, sticky notes are my lifesavers. I love how they add a pop of color to my wooden desk, making important points stand out. Creating the right study setup is crucial for productivity, wouldn't you agree? For me, it’s not just about the desk and chair; it’s about the whole vibe. My desk is strategically placed near large windows, giving me a view of the outdoor patio and buildings. Sometimes, just looking up and seeing a bit of nature helps clear my head when I’m deep into a complex problem. It truly feels like an immersive academic environment here, even when I'm just studying alone. I find that natural light boosts my mood and keeps me alert, especially when I'm diving into dense materials. Beyond my desk, I love to infuse some coziness into my overall space. You can probably tell from the photos that I’m a huge fan of creating an atmosphere. I’ve incorporated two large potted plants – they instantly bring life and a calming presence to the room. Studies even say plants can improve focus! And when daylight fades, those beautiful string lights come on. They cast such a warm, inviting glow, creating a super cozy ambiance that makes even late-night study sessions feel a little magical. It’s my little trick to make studying less of a chore and more of an enjoyable experience, especially when I'm burning the midnight oil. A few little hacks I've picked up for my 'school girlie' routine: I use my sticky notes not just for reminders, but also for breaking down big tasks into smaller, manageable chunks. Each sticky note is one small step, and seeing them line up or get removed as I progress is super motivating. Also, having a dedicated spot for everything, from charging cables to my favorite pens, helps keep the clutter away and my mind clear. It’s all about creating an environment where learning feels natural and inspiring. I'm still figuring out the best ways to balance academics with everything else, but I've found that having a space that inspires me is half the battle. What are your go-to items or decor ideas that make your study space uniquely yours? I'm always looking for new inspiration to make my 'school girlie' life even better!
