Okay, homies, since we're all here to talk about those anime characters who just didn't get the love or understanding they deserved, I had to spill my thoughts. You know, the ones where everyone jumps to conclusions, but if you look a little deeper, their story is so much more complex? Those are the characters I love to defend! For me, one of the biggest examples has to be Itachi Uchiha from Naruto. When he first appeared, he was the ultimate villain – the guy who massacred his entire clan, leaving only his little brother Sasuke alive, and joining the Akatsuki. For so long, we saw him as this cold, calculating, evil presence. It was easy to hate him, especially seeing Sasuke's pain. But then, the truth came out, and my jaw dropped! He was a double agent, forced by the village elders to wipe out his own family to prevent a coup, essentially sacrificing his reputation, his family, and his life for the greater good of Konoha. He lived with that burden, acting as a villain to protect Sasuke and the village. His love for Sasuke was unconditional, even if it looked like hate. It’s a painful reminder that what we see on the surface isn't always the whole story. He truly 'stayed silent' about his true intentions for years, enduring hatred for the sake of peace. Another anime character I often think about is Gaara from Naruto (yes, Naruto has a lot of them!). In his early appearances, he was terrifying. A sand-wielding psychopath who killed without remorse, driven by loneliness and a monster sealed inside him. He was the epitome of a misunderstood outcast, hated and feared by his own village, which twisted him into believing he was only meant to love himself. His actions were cruel, but they stemmed from deep-seated trauma and a desperate need for connection that he didn't know how to express. It wasn't until Naruto, another jinchuriki, reached out to him and showed him understanding that Gaara began his transformation. He became the Kazekage, a protector, and a truly compassionate leader. His story is a powerful testament to how vital understanding and empathy are in changing someone's path. These characters show us that sometimes, the ones we're quickest to judge are the ones carrying the heaviest burdens or fighting silent battles. Their misunderstood natures make their eventual redemption or true motivations even more impactful. It makes you wonder, how many other characters out there are just waiting for us to look past the surface? So, homie to homie, who's on your list? Who did you initially dislike or misunderstand, only to realize later they were actually a legend? I'm genuinely curious to hear your thoughts – no judgment, just good vibes and a shared love for diving deep into our favorite anime worlds!

katsuki bakugo for sure. everyone saw him as a explosive blonde but i dont think they ever took the time to realize and understand why he’s like that.
