SESSION #45
Hey everyone! I wanted to share something exciting I’ve discovered about my favorite pastime – scootering! For the longest time, I just saw it as a fun way to get around or pull off some cool tricks. But lately, I’ve been asking myself: is riding a scooter good exercise? And after my recent, pretty intense ride, which I’ve casually dubbed 'SESSION #45,' I can definitively say YES! I was genuinely surprised by how much of a workout I got. I mean, my legs were burning, my core felt engaged, and my heart rate was definitely elevated. It's not just a casual glide; if you approach it right, it can be a fantastic full-body engagement. Let me break down why I now consider scootering a legitimate part of my fitness routine. First off, let's talk about the cardiovascular benefits. When you're consistently pushing off, maintaining momentum, and even navigating different terrains, your heart and lungs are working hard. During SESSION #45, I really pushed myself to maintain a faster pace, and I could feel my heart pumping, similar to a brisk walk or a light jog. It’s a great way to improve your endurance and stamina without the high impact that running can sometimes have on your joints. Then there’s the muscle engagement. Your legs, especially your glutes, hamstrings, and quads, are constantly active. Pushing off repeatedly builds strength and power in your lower body. But it doesn't stop there! Your core muscles are constantly engaged to maintain balance and stability, especially when you're carving turns or navigating obstacles. Even your arms and shoulders get a workout as you steer and absorb shocks. I've noticed a significant improvement in my balance since I started taking my scootering more seriously as exercise. And let's not forget the calorie burn! While it might not be as intense as a sprint, a moderate scootering session can burn a significant amount of calories, especially if you're actively pushing and riding for an extended period. During my SESSION #45, I rode for about an hour, and I felt thoroughly worked out, definitely enough to know I'd burned a good amount of energy. It’s a fun, low-impact alternative to traditional cardio that keeps you active and outdoors. So, if you’re looking for a fun way to get active and wondering if riding a scooter is good exercise, I highly recommend giving it a try. Push yourself a bit, explore new routes, and feel your body working. You might just find your new favorite workout!
