Healthier Candy

🛒Recently started buying healthier sweets for the house. We are a fan of Lily’s chocolates. So we of course had to try the Lily’s Gummy worms and Lily’s Gummy bears. Also love me some Swedish fish so this was huge to say I actually liked the Smart Sweets Sweet Fish. Like a lot. It’s the right amount of berry flavor. I was impressed!!

😋My favorite out of the 3 would be the Smart Sweets Sweet Fish and the Lily Gummy Bears. I would buy again! My husband loves the sweet fish and my son loves the gummy bears.

When I'm checking out new options, I always look for labels that say 'no sugar added' or clearly state a 'low sugar' content per serving. The OCR also pointed out features like 'plant-based,' 'gluten-free,' and being an 'excellent source of fiber,' which are fantastic bonuses that cater to various dietary preferences and can make a treat feel more substantial. For example, the added 'dietary fiber' in Smart Sweets makes them feel a bit more satisfying than typical gummies. For anyone else wondering if they can still enjoy a sweet treat without the usual guilt, my advice is to become a label detective! Beyond sugar, I often check for the 'low calorie' count and ingredients. It's truly amazing how many brands are now innovating to 'kick sugar' without completely sacrificing that enjoyable taste and texture. You'll find options that are 'fat free' and even 'no gelatin' for those following plant-based diets. It’s all about making informed choices. My kids absolutely adore the 'Sweet Fruity Friends' from Lily's, and my husband can't get enough of the 'Sweet Fish,' proving that these 'healthier' versions can truly satisfy that sweet tooth for the whole family. While no candy should replace whole foods, these alternatives allow me to 'feel good about candy' in moderation, making those sweet cravings a little less impactful on my overall health goals. Finding options that are '70 calories' or offer '2g net carbs' per serving can really help manage intake and keep track of nutrition. It’s all about balance and finding what works for your lifestyle!
