You can’t make this ish up! Y’all, my kids are so funny and might be a little off but I’m grateful for the entertainment 😂

My original post just scratched the surface – truly, you can't make up half the stuff that comes out of my kids' mouths or the antics they get up to. These aren't just moments; they're our little 'pocket memories,' tucked away to pull out and chuckle over later, especially when the days feel long. Just last week, for instance, we were in the grocery store, and my youngest, who’s just starting to put sentences together, pointed to a display of bananas and loudly declared, 'Look, Mommy! Yellow boomerangs!' I nearly dropped my shopping basket! Everyone around us started laughing, and I just stood there, mortified yet completely amused. It's moments like these, where their innocent logic twists everyday objects into something entirely new and hilarious, that make parenting an absolute joy. Then there was the time my older one decided that wearing mismatched socks was a 'fashion statement' because it meant 'every foot has its own unique adventure.' Who am I to argue with that kind of creative reasoning? It's not just the funny things they say; it's also their completely uninhibited approach to life. They see the world through such a fresh lens, and it often makes me pause and appreciate the simple, silly things I might otherwise overlook. Another gem from recently: I was trying to explain why we couldn't have ice cream for breakfast, and my middle child, with the most serious face, told me, 'But Mom, it's just frozen milk and sugar! Like cereal, but colder!' You can't beat that level of argumentation from a five-year-old. I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing and just hugged them instead. It's these spontaneous, unscripted performances that fill our home with laughter. Whether it’s a dramatic reenactment of a cartoon scene, a profound philosophical question about why the sky is blue that sends me Googling, or just the sheer joy of watching them discover something new, every day is an adventure. These aren't always picture-perfect moments, but they are perfectly real, perfectly funny, and perfectly ours. They remind me that even amidst the laundry piles and the endless questions, there’s an abundance of pure, unadulterated entertainment right here at home. And for that, I’m incredibly grateful. These 'tales of parenthood' truly are the best kind of 'pocket memories' to collect.
