Curling Session
I love when my hair is done with curling iron. I used to be a straight hair girly , what happened? 😂 #zeebaby #zeescreations #funhair #curlyhairdontcare #hairjourney
I used to be a straight hair girly, too! For years, my flat iron was practically glued to my hand, ensuring every strand was sleek and smooth. But honestly, it got a bit... boring. I started seeing all these gorgeous, effortless curls online and wondered if I could ever achieve that look without spending hours at a salon or wrestling with traditional curling irons. That's when I discovered the magic of flat iron curls, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer for my long hair! Transitioning from straight to loving my curls wasn't an overnight thing, but once I mastered a few key techniques, I was hooked. The best part? You can get those beautiful, soft waves or even super defined small curls with the very same tool you use to straighten your hair! It’s all about technique, and I’m excited to share my go-to flat iron curls technique that consistently gives me salon-worthy results. First things first, prep is crucial, especially for long hair. Always start with dry, detangled hair. And please, please don't skip the heat protectant! It's your hair's best friend against damage. Once your hair is prepped, section it out. For me, working in 1-inch sections makes the process much more manageable and ensures an even curl pattern. Now, for the actual curls with straightener method: Grab a section: Take one of your 1-inch sections. Position the iron: Open your flat iron and clamp it at the root of your hair, as if you're going to straighten it, but leave about an inch or two from the scalp. The Twist: This is the key! Twist the flat iron 180 degrees away from your face (or towards it, depending on the look you want – I prefer away for a softer wave). The Glide: Keeping that 180-degree twist, slowly glide the flat iron down the hair strand all the way to the ends. Go slow! The slower you go, the more defined the curl will be. Release and Cool: Once the iron reaches the end, release the clamp and gently slide the curl off. Don't touch it immediately! Let it cool completely in its coiled shape. This is essential for setting the curl and making it last. Want to achieve those dreamy small curls on long hair? The trick is to use smaller sections – think half an inch. Also, when you twist the flat iron, make sure you're getting a really tight twist, almost like you're wrapping the hair around the iron itself before gliding down. For extra bounce, once the curl has cooled, you can gently wrap it around your finger to reinforce the shape before moving on. After all your hair is curled and has cooled down, it's time for the fun part: tousling hair. What does tousling hair meaning? It simply means to gently mess it up a bit! Instead of perfect, pristine ringlets, tousling breaks up the curls, adds volume, and gives your hair a more natural, lived-in, effortless look. To tousle, I usually flip my head upside down and gently run my fingers through my hair at the roots, shaking it out. Don't comb through the curls; just use your fingers to separate them and add that beautiful, messy texture. A light spritz of texturizing spray or flexible hold hairspray can help hold that perfect "undone" look all day. My hair journey has definitely taken a turn, and I couldn't be happier with my curly transformation. It adds so much life and personality to my look, and mastering these flat iron techniques has given me the confidence to experiment. If you're considering making the switch from straight to curly, or just want to add some fabulous waves to your routine, give these tips a try!
