How I spent my birthday money! ☺️

I have never been the type that has to have expensive things, but that does not negate the fact that I still enjoy having things from time to time, even if they are super inexpensive. This year for my birthday, I decided to get a want, a need and something that will benefit me in the future.

1. The Lions mane gummies (a need)- I don’t know who I am talking to, but as someone who is trying to get off antidepressants and look for a more natural way to increase my mood and attentiveness, I heard this was really beneficial.

2. Blue wallet (a want)- I have been wanting a new wallet, but did not want to but one myself. However, when my birthday came around I took this as the perfect time to get one! I got this small, cute wallet from Amazon. It was about $12 and fits everything I need.

3. Masters Degree Application Fee- Lastly, I decided to invest in higher education. This is something I have been contemplating for a while now. In fact, I had applied to a different school and then quickly became overwhelmed with the idea of paying for school again. However, I found an affordable online opportunity that will allow me grow and excel in my career.

... Read moreAfter deciding to put some of my birthday money towards something truly impactful, my mind kept circling back to further education. I've always known the value of a Master's degree, but the idea of traditional schooling felt overwhelming, especially with life's other demands. That's when I started seriously researching online education programs. I needed something flexible, reputable, and importantly, affordable. The search led me to Lamar University, and their 100% Online Education Program really caught my eye. It wasn't just about the cost-effectiveness, which was a huge factor, but also the sheer convenience of being able to learn from anywhere, at my own pace. This meant I could continue working and manage my personal well-being (like making sure I have my Lion's Mane gummies for focus!) without the added stress of a daily commute or rigid class schedules. I compared several institutions, and Lamar University consistently stood out for its comprehensive approach to online learning, offering a diverse range of Master's degrees tailored for working professionals. Applying for the Master's program felt like a genuine investment in my future. It's more than just a degree; it's about gaining new skills, expanding my professional network, and opening doors to new career opportunities. The application process itself was straightforward, requiring transcripts and a statement of purpose, but the feeling of taking that step was monumental. I remember the relief of finding a program that truly aligned with my ambitions without demanding a complete upheaval of my current life. For anyone else contemplating an online Master's, my advice would be to thoroughly research your options. Look for programs with strong accreditation, clear curriculum outlines, and flexible scheduling. Don't be afraid to reach out to admissions for any questions you have – they can often provide insights into program structure, faculty, and career support. Online learning requires a certain level of self-discipline and good time management. I've already started thinking about how I'll structure my study time, perhaps dedicating specific evenings or weekend mornings, to ensure I stay on track. Leveraging digital tools for organization and connecting with fellow online students will also be key. The benefits of pursuing higher education online are truly manifold. Beyond the academic knowledge, it teaches you incredible self-reliance, problem-solving, and digital literacy – skills that are invaluable in today's job market. I'm excited about the prospect of delving deeper into my field and truly excelling, armed with specialized knowledge and a new perspective. It’s empowering to know that I'm building a stronger foundation for myself, not just academically but personally, all thanks to a smart birthday money decision. This educational journey, combined with my focus on personal wellness, feels like a holistic investment in my future self. I can't wait to see where this Lamar University online program takes me!
