My 5 secrets for organizing a Play Room

I’ll be the first to say I’m not perfect at this! You know what they say… Do as I say not as I do. But I do try to keep up with all of these tips because they are very helpful in maintaining an organized playroom.
TIPS FOR DECLUTERING TOYS WHEN IT’S A TOUGH FOR YOU OR YOUR CHILD:

🤗If you struggle to Declutter toys without your children’s consent, because YOUR toys were decluttered without your knowledge as a child, causing lifelong upset, I hear you. And I’m sad that happened.
☺️ Something to keep in mind during this process, an overcrowded room can overwhelm anyone, especially when it’s a child in a room designed for them
🎀 So as you are decluttering, remind yourself that too many toys means my child could become overwhelmed by the visual clutter which can cause them to act out for reasons they can’t understand, they may not want to use their playroom, plus so much more!
🗑️ Rule of thumb is to always involve your children if they are old enough to grasp the concept of decluttering. But if you have a child who struggles, you can always put toys aside (out of sight while they are not home) that you feel they don’t use to see if they actually will miss them. Sort of like a 30 day trial. After 30 days, they don’t remember them, it’s probably safe to donate ❤️

Here are my 5 secrets for organizing and maintaining a play room
1️⃣ the reality check, yes, kids play here but if it's consistently messy because clean up is impossible, it just means you need a new system
2️⃣ about every 6 months purge the broken and outgrown toys so you only continue to contain what you keep (I have some tips in the captions if you struggle with this)
3️⃣ find quality easy to access bins to effectively contain what you are keeping.
We have lots of little like toys so I categorized them in these deep clear drawer bins because these are sturdy and the easiest for us to keep. (More on that in the captions)
4️⃣ find storage space you didn’t even know you had by finding organizers that fit in blank spaces under furniture or oversized toys.
5️⃣ easily keep up with it by locking up the mess maker toys. My kids have access to every toy, but not every toy at once, and these type of toys have a one in one out rule to avoid hours of sorting.
