"Paperboy" 🗞️ 📰

1967 Winston-Salem NC, living with my grandparents on Broad Street, right across from Oliver's Cleaners, several businesses in this area, along with a City 🏙️ Revenue Duke Power ⚡ 💡 Substation, Holsum 🍞🥪 Bakery, Cox Roofing, Klein Used Auto 🚗, Leon's Shell Station ⛽ 🚉, Gulf Convenience Store, Coca Cola Bottling Company, The Bargain Barn, ...the area was quite, never hardly hear a Siren 🚨, or four , five patrol 🚓 cars responding to a call, not much excitement in this area, I was in my 10th grade 🎒 year at Parkland High School, this school was operating on a modular system, A,B,and C day, ...yes it was cool, especially C Day...you were only in all classes 30 minutes 🕠, and on Humanities Day, you check in at Homeroom and the rest of the day is yours.. 🥂 🎈, most of my homies including me, we left and went back to the hood 😂...I took on this Paperboy 🗞️ job with the Journal and Sentinel Publication, my route was Washington Part area, Cascade, Gloria St, Academy, and Broad Street, my papers were dropped off in front of the Duke Power Substation, 4am, 🕓 I get there at 530 🕔 I'm only one block down the street, my first task is to fold and tuck, each paper 🗞️, so many of these houses 🏘️ look like the picture you see of Victorian Style homes 🏡, well manicured yards, these folks, got money 💰💰, most of them, it's predominantly White folks, two cars 🚗🚗, boat ⛵, outbuildings, this route was huge, but I hit it rain ☔ sleet ☔ or snow ❄️🌨️...slide my feet down in them boots 🥾 and keep it moving, my grandma had breakfast 🥞 ready every morning 🌄 she caught hell waking me up every morning 🌄, she had to call me four five times and sometimes threaten to throw ice water 🌊💦 on me, this job was seven days a week, and collect 💰🤑 on Saturday morning 🌄...most answered their door 🚪 but a few played hide and seek, yeah, I saw the curtains move and I heard the TV 📺 these MFs, playing, knowing damn well I'm coming back, Bitch Better Have My Money 🤑💰💰 😂😂😂
