I would use multiple colors of chalk paint. Very easy to work with, I did my kitchen on some old brown cabinet. They have so many colors and shading colors Get a board at HOME DEPOT OR LOWES OR ANYWHERE and try to copy the style, it's a lot of layers on top of a base coat. Seal it and your done. My kitchen was done 7 years ago, couple places need a touch up but otherwise looks great. A quart will go a long way.
