Testing the difference with these tiles
I had to know the difference so I ordered Smart Tiles from Amazon and then dupes from Aliexpress and Temu. Safe to say Smart Tiles are the best looking but if you are on a tight budget and need to add some love into your space - the dupes aren’t the worst.

Beyond just comparing looks, I know many of you are wondering about the practicality and cost benefits of these peel-and-stick tiles, especially for different areas of your home. My previous deep dive into Smart Tiles versus their more affordable dupes really highlighted the visual differences – the Smart Tiles often boast that great 3D feel and a more realistic grout line, giving them a superior 'real life tile look' as I found out. But what about using them for a bigger 'fix,' like on your floors, or maximizing those cost benefits? While my initial project focused on transforming my kitchen walls, the question of 'smart tiles floor' applications comes up a lot. Can you use them on floors? The short answer is yes, but with a few important considerations. Smart Tiles, being generally higher quality and often 'MADE IN CANADA' with better adhesion, can hold up better in low-traffic areas like a small bathroom or laundry room floor. However, for high-traffic zones, traditional tiling is usually more durable. The dupes, with their 'less 3D, more printed pattern look,' might not withstand the constant wear and tear of a floor as well, and their 'thicker grout line' might also be more prone to collecting dirt. It's a balance between budget and expected longevity in a floor application. Always make sure the subfloor is perfectly smooth and clean for the best adhesion and longevity. Now, let's talk about the 'fix cost benefits.' This is where peel-and-stick tiles truly shine, whether you choose the premium Smart Tiles or a budget-friendly dupe. The biggest saving comes from DIY installation. No need to hire a professional tiler! You can literally 'get the job done' yourself, saving hundreds, if not thousands, in labor costs. For renters, this is a game-changer. As a 'renter-friendly' option, these tiles allow you to 'make your rental space feel more personal' without losing your security deposit, since they can typically be removed without damaging the underlying surface (though always test first, especially with older paint!). Consider the long-term value. While Smart Tiles might have a higher upfront cost, their superior quality, better '3D feel,' and more convincing 'grout line' can mean they last longer and look better, offering a better aesthetic return on investment. The dupes, while significantly cheaper, provide an immediate visual upgrade on a tight budget. Both options allow you to achieve a refreshed look, a true 'fix' for a dated space, without the mess, time, or expense of traditional tiling. It's about choosing the right tool for your specific 'fix' and budget. Whether it's adding a backsplash to your kitchen or giving a small bathroom floor a facelift, these tiles offer an accessible and impactful solution.
friend looks good but how do we bet it off and does it damage the walls.?
