🍖 Pork & Kandykraut
This is my sweet twist on the classic pork and sauerkraut. The brown sugar caramelizes into the kraut and makes it taste like candy—comfort food at its best. Ingredients
• 1 pork roast (about 4 lbs, or any size you like)
• 1 large jar, bag, or 2–3 cans sauerkraut
• 1–1 ½ cups brown sugar
• 1–2 tsp salt
• 1 tsp black pepper
• 1 tsp onion powder
• 1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
1. Make the KandyKraut: Spread sauerkraut in the bottom of your roasting pan. Stir in the brown sugar until well combined.
2. Prep the pork: Place the roast on top of the sauerkraut fat side up. Poke holes all over the roast, then season with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
3. Flip to cook: Turn the roast over so it’s fat side down, nestled into the sauerkraut.
4. Cook: Cover tightly with foil and bake at 385°F until the pork is fork-tender and falling apart.
• For reference, a 4-pound roast takes about 3 ½ hours. Larger or smaller roasts will need more or less time.
