5 tips for a healthy meal (with examples)
It’s not about being perfect, it’s about being nourished.
I think a lot of people think “breakfast” & think pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausage (or cafe con pan dulce iykyk 🤭) I know I did.
Here are 5 tips for building a healthier meal, especially as a busy mom.
1. Start with protein. It helps you stay full and focused.
2. Don’t skip healthy fats, they’re so important for hormone support, mood & satiety.
3. Prioritize nutrient-dense foods like quality meats, fruits, and eggs. This supports digestion, energy, and overall vitality—especially if you lean animal-based like I do.
4. Choose whole foods often as you can. The fewer ingredients the better.
5. Don’t overthink it. Leftovers can be breakfast too!
Let me know what you’re eating lately. I love new ideas!

A healthy meal isn't just about what you eat; it's about making choices that nourish your body and support your overall well-being. Here’s a closer look at the five tips discussed in the article: 1. Start with Protein: Including protein in your meals helps to keep you feeling full and focused throughout the day. Consider options like eggs, Greek yogurt, or lean meats that are convenient and nutritious. 2. Don't Neglect Healthy Fats: Healthy fats are essential for hormone regulation and satiety. Incorporate foods such as avocados, nuts, and olive oil into your meals to support your mood and energy levels. 3. Prioritize Nutrient-Dense Foods: Aim for quality over quantity by selecting whole, nutrient-rich foods such as fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins. For example, short ribs or ground beef can provide essential nutrients while keeping your meals satisfying. 4. Choose Whole Foods: The fewer ingredients, the better. Whole foods are less processed and often contain more nutrients, make meal prepping easier, and can be very versatile. 5. Embrace Leftovers: Don't shy away from using leftovers creatively. A dinner meal can easily become breakfast or lunch with the right approach—like having eggs with leftover vegetables or a protein-packed smoothie. By focusing on these strategies, you can create meals that not only support a busy lifestyle but also enhance your overall health and well-being.
