My First GF Sourdough Bread
I jumped on the bandwagon of making sourdough bread at home, but since I cannot have gluten/wheat, I found a recipe for a GF sourdough bread!
I’ve been feeding my starter everyday and it finally because active enough to make a loaf! This is the very first loaf I’ve made and I’m so proud of it!
The recipe I am following is from Joanna Overly

Baking gluten-free sourdough bread has been a rewarding experience that challenges and excites me as a home baker. I learned that maintaining an active gluten-free starter like ‘Scooby Dough’ requires daily feeding and patience. Using ingredients such as whole psyllium husk and carefully chosen dry ingredients provides the necessary structure and moisture that gluten typically offers in traditional bread. The shaping and rising process is critical; watching the loaf fully rise before baking feels like a true milestone. Baking with an appliance like the Cosori oven helps achieve a crusty exterior and soft crumb inside, which is often tricky with gluten-free breads. For those starting their gluten-free sourdough adventure, I recommend following trusted recipes such as those by Joanna Overly. Her gluten-free sourdough recipes provide clear guidance, making it easier to get started. My journey taught me that success in GF sourdough comes from consistent starter care, patience during proofing, and adapting techniques to gluten-free flours. If you face gluten intolerance or choose to avoid wheat, this method offers a delicious alternative to conventional sourdough. I hope my experience encourages others to try baking GF sourdough at home—it’s fulfilling and incredibly tasty!
