So I have quite the collection I know there are plenty of powders out there but did y’all know that putting your pre workout powder in the freezer helps keep it from getting hard and keeps it fresher

Read moreIt's so frustrating when you reach for your favorite pre-workout, like my EHP Labs OxyShred (especially those delicious Mango or Poison Apple flavors!), only to find it's turned into a solid brick! I've been there, and it used to drive me crazy, feeling like I was just wasting money on a product that lost its freshness too quickly. But then I stumbled upon a game-changing hack: the freezer! And let me tell you, it's been a lifesaver. You might wonder, why does pre-workout powder get hard in the first place? Most pre-workout formulas, including popular ones like OxyShred or "Poison Pre-Workout" blends, contain hygroscopic ingredients. This simply means they love to absorb moisture from the air. Even if your lid is on tight, humidity can still seep in, causing the fine powder particles to clump together and eventually solidify. Things like creatine, beta-alanine, and even some artificial sweeteners are notorious for this. So, how does freezing help? It's not just about keeping it cold. The freezer provides a much drier environment than your cupboard. Low temperatures significantly reduce humidity, minimizing the moisture absorption that leads to clumping. Plus, the cold can slow down any potential chemical reactions that might degrade the ingredients over time, helping to maintain the potency and effectiveness of your supplement. I've found it particularly effective for keeping my Acetyl L-Carnitine and other sensitive ingredients in top condition. Here’s how I do it to get the best results: First, make sure your pre-workout container is as airtight as possible. If the original tub isn't super sealed, you might want to transfer the powder to a heavy-duty freezer bag or an additional airtight container before placing it in the freezer. This further protects it from any residual moisture or freezer burn. When you're ready to use it, just scoop out your portion and quickly put the container back in the freezer. Avoid leaving it out for extended periods at room temperature, as condensation can form, reintroducing moisture. Beyond the freezer, there are a few other tricks I've learned. Always store your pre-workout in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, even if you're not freezing it. Some people also add a food-grade desiccant packet to their tubs, which can absorb excess moisture. However, I've found the freezer method to be the most consistently effective for me. It keeps those vibrant flavors, whether it's Mojito or Slime, tasting fresh and ensures every scoop is perfectly powdered and ready to mix. It's a small change, but it really makes a difference in getting the most out of your supplements and avoiding that disappointing solid block. Give it a try – you'll thank me later!
