Sub-Zero (MK3)
(Mortal Kombat III) I played the first mortal kombat. I agree that Kitana should be added, but she will be clothed. The one I want is the lizard man that looks similar to sub zero, but he is green. Spits acid and turns into a lizard and the finishing move is scary. Oh! And the guy that controls lightning would be cool too. His finishing move is odd, he has like a 50/50 chance to strike himself or the other person. Bruh. that lighting finishing move is like flipping a coin. 😂 #FortniteBattlePass
Diving deeper into Mortal Kombat 3, it's impossible not to spend more time thinking about Sub-Zero. For many of us, he was the ultimate cool character (pun intended!) with his iconic ice powers. I remember countless hours in the arcade, trying to master his moves. His Ice Clone, where he'd leave a frozen replica of himself to bait opponents, was a game-changer. And that classic Ice Ball? It was always satisfying to freeze an enemy solid before following up with a brutal combo. His slide move was another staple, perfect for closing distances or evading attacks. Thinking back, every iteration of Sub-Zero has been memorable, but the MK3 version held a special place. The fluidity of his moves, the distinct 'ice' sound effects, and of course, his finishing moves. While the article briefly touches on other characters' finishers, Sub-Zero's were always a spectacle – from his spine rip (though not in MK3 directly, the spirit of his fatalities remained) to the more comical ones like the ice breath that exploded opponents. The sheer variety in MK3, including Animalities and Brutalities, meant you were constantly discovering new ways to finish a fight, almost like earning new 'rewards' or unlocking a 'locked page' of content in today's games. The original post also mentioned the 'lizard man,' Reptile, and the 'guy that controls lightning,' Raiden. They were fantastic foils to Sub-Zero. Reptile's acid spit and camouflage were incredibly unique, and who could forget Raiden's electric attacks and his unpredictable finishing move that felt like a coin toss? It really added to the game’s unpredictable fun. Kitana, as mentioned, would have been a great addition as well, especially with her fan attacks. What truly made MK3, and characters like Sub-Zero, resonate so much was the distinct personality each fighter brought to the battle. It wasn't just about fighting; it was about the lore, the unique fighting styles, and the spectacle of it all. Even now, when I see discussions about game 'outfits' or 'styles' in modern Battle Royale games, it reminds me of the distinct looks and moves that made each MK character instantly recognizable. Imagine Sub-Zero getting a special Fortnite Style skin – that would be incredible! The idea of 'claiming rewards' or unlocking new 'outfits' is something that keeps players engaged, and in a way, mastering each character's special moves and finishers in MK3 felt like its own progression system. It wasn't just about winning; it was about mastering the art of the kombat, one frozen opponent at a time.
