God’s promise of peace to us children of God

The promise of peace God has with us children of God

Vulnerability

🤍 My Story: I was so anxious and full of fear. I could not sit still. I was extremely stressed out and worrying all the time. I recently went on a fast. As I was fasting I came across this scripture. I realized that God has a promise to keep us in his perfect peace. We have to claim this promise. It is not of God to constantly be in fear, worry, doubt, scarcity, and panic. This is why we have God to help us with these things because we can’t deal with them on our own.

🤍 How I Felt: I felt so overwhelmed with love and peace once discovering this scripture. In addition, I feel an obligation to drop fear and worry at all times because of God’s promise.

🤍 My Takeaways: It’s our job as Christians to study the word and meditate on it day and night. We are to have peace at all times because God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind 2 Timothy 1:7. God’s word is so good and pure. It always comforts me.

... Read moreHey everyone! Following up on the incredible truth about God's promise of peace that was shared, I wanted to dive a little deeper into how truly revolutionary this concept is, especially when we're facing those tough moments of fear, anxiety, or even deep sadness and depression. Like many of you, I've had my share of feeling utterly shaken and weak, wondering how to find solid ground. What really clicked for me, and what the original post beautifully highlights, is that God's promises aren't just empty words; they're a divine covenant of peace. Think of it like a legal contract, as the image so powerfully put it with Isaiah 54:10. This verse says, 'For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, nor will My covenant of peace be shaken.' Isn't that incredible? Even when everything around us feels like it's crumbling, His promise stands firm. We literally have a contract with our Creator for peace! So, how do we actively claim this God's Promise when our hearts are racing or our minds are overwhelmed? It starts by intentionally seeking out and meditating on these promise verses in the Bible. Beyond 2 Timothy 1:7, which reminds us God didn't give us a spirit of fear, and Isaiah 54:10, here are a few more scriptures that have been my anchors: Philippians 4:6-7: 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.' This verse is a game-changer because it tells us how to deal with anxiety – through prayer – and what the result will be – peace that makes no sense to the world. Matthew 11:28-30: 'Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.' When I feel overwhelmed with life's heavy burdens, I remember Jesus's invitation to find rest in Him. Jeremiah 29:11: 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' This promise reminds me that even in uncertainty, God has a good plan. It shifts my focus from current worries to His ultimate purpose. Psalm 34:4: 'I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.' A simple yet profound promise that when we call on Him, He hears and delivers us from our fears. To truly make these promises real in your life, try writing them down, speaking them aloud, or even memorizing one a week. When those feelings of sadness, depression, weakness, and anxiety creep in, consciously choose to recall these truths. It's not about denying your feelings, but about choosing to stand on the unshakeable foundation of God's word. Remember, His lovingkindness is constant, and His covenant of peace is always available to you. Let's lean into these promises together and experience the profound comfort they bring!
