Okay, so I finally got my hands on the Deux Donut Holes from Sprouts, and I know a lot of you have been curious about them! Finding them in a convenient donut holes box was a pleasant surprise. My first impression, holding the pouches – one Pumpkin Spice and one Maple Glaze – was definitely positive, especially seeing the bold claims: "DAIRY & GLUTEN-FREE!" and "41% LESS SUGAR!" plastered right on the front. As someone always on the lookout for delicious vegan snacks that don't compromise on taste, these immediately piqued my interest. Let's talk about the flavors, because that's what we're all here for, right? The Maple Glaze flavor was a real winner for me. It had a genuinely lovely maple taste that felt authentic, not overly artificial or cloyingly sweet. Sometimes, maple-flavored baked goods can be too sugary, but Deux really nailed the balance here. It was sweet enough to be a treat, but that "less sugar" claim definitely seemed to hold true, making it feel a little less guilt-inducing. The texture for both was consistent: not super moist like a fresh-baked cake donut, but certainly not dry or crumbly, which can sometimes be an issue with gluten-free products. It was a pleasant, soft chew. Now, onto the Pumpkin Spice. This one was a bit more subtle than I expected. It had a light, autumnal pumpkin taste, but I found myself wishing for a stronger kick of spice. You know, that cozy blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger that really makes a pumpkin treat sing! It wasn't bad by any means, just a bit understated for my personal preference. If you prefer a milder pumpkin flavor, you might actually love it. But for those of us who crave that bold, aromatic spice blend, it left a little more to be desired. Given they are dairy-free and gluten-free, the fact they tasted good at all is a huge plus, as sometimes these dietary restrictions can really limit flavor and texture. Overall, I'd say these Deux Donut Holes are definitely worth trying, especially if you have dietary restrictions or are just looking for a healthier alternative to traditional donut holes. They're a fantastic option for a quick snack or a little treat with your coffee. While the Pumpkin Spice could use a bit more oomph for my taste, the Maple Glaze was fantastic. So, next time you're at Sprouts and spot that Deux Donut Holes box, grab a pouch (or two!). They're a pretty solid choice for a fall-inspired, better-for-you treat, and a good way to satisfy that donut craving without the dairy or gluten.
