My Walk With God: Salvation + Repentance
Something’s that I’ve been learning about salvation and repentance as I’ve been reading my Bible more and pursing my relationship with God💕 #salvation #repentance #softlifeinchrist #mywalkwithgod
From my personal journey, I’ve come to realize that salvation is not just a one-time event or a checklist like saying a prayer or attending church. It is a profound, soul-deep transformation that begins with truly accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. This means believing wholeheartedly in His sacrifice and resurrection as the only way to reconciliation with God, as highlighted in Romans 10:9 and John 14:6. What has been incredibly impactful for me is understanding that salvation involves not just belief but a lifestyle change aligned with God’s will. It’s about seeking the kingdom of God first, as stated in Matthew 6:33, and allowing His righteousness to shape our daily decisions. This ongoing relationship with God requires reading and knowing His Word to let His truth manifest in our lives. Repentance, which I initially thought was just feeling guilty, revealed itself to be much deeper. It is a process involving awareness of our wrongs, heartfelt sorrow that leads to change, and concrete action towards living differently. This godly sorrow produces genuine repentance that results in salvation, not just regret. It’s a cycle of turning away from sin and turning toward God, who empowers us to overcome old habits and live anew (2 Corinthians 7:10-11, 5:17-20). In real life, this journey involves ups and downs. There have been moments of struggle where I had to confront my sinful nature and surrender control to God fully. But through these experiences, I’ve found peace in knowing that there is no condemnation for those in Christ (Romans 8:1). This truth gives me confidence and motivation to keep aligning my life with God’s purpose. Ultimately, salvation and repentance are about full submission and partnership with God, allowing Him to work through us to bring His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10). For anyone walking this path, I encourage consistent Bible reading and open-hearted prayer, as these are essential to understanding who you are in Christ and living with the authority and influence that comes from that identity.
