Felt cookies
I cut out 8 circles and cut out some chocolate chips.
I sewed on the chocolate chips to 4 of the circles.
I then put the chocolate chips side face down on the Nonchocolate chip circles so they would be inside out and sewed them till i had a small opening.
I then pushed the fabric thru the hole so it wouldn’t be inside out and added stuffing into them and sewed up the small hole.
Creating felt food items like these felt chocolate chip cookies is a delightful craft that combines creativity with practical sewing skills. Felt is an ideal material for such projects due to its soft texture and ease of handling. When making felt cookies, attention to detail—such as accurately cutting circles and carefully attaching chocolate chip shapes—is key to achieving a realistic look. The process involves initially cutting multiple felt circles representing the cookie base and chocolate chips. By sewing the chocolate chips onto some of the circles, crafters add texture and visual interest. Placing the chocolate chip side face down and sewing it to a plain circle creates the structure needed to form a stuffed three-dimensional cookie. Turning the sewn pieces right-side out through a small opening is a common technique in soft toy making, enabling the seams to be hidden inside. Stuffing the cookie with fiberfill or similar materials provides volume and a plush feel. Finally, closing the opening neatly completes the craft. This project not only enhances sewing skills such as hand stitching, inverting fabric, and stuffing but also encourages imaginative play or decorative uses. Felt cookies are perfect as playful gifts, educational props for teaching children about baking, or decorative elements for home or party themes. Exploring variations such as different cookie sizes, shapes, or adding felt sprinkles can further personalize the creation. Overall, crafting felt food items like chocolate chip cookies is an enjoyable and rewarding experience that blends artistry and craftsmanship, resulting in charming keepsakes that celebrate the joy of handmade projects.
