48hrs in Athens, Greece 🇬🇷
Greece was everything I could have dreamed of and more! 🇬🇷✨ For my birthday and my homegirl’s, we kicked things off in Athens before hopping over to Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete. Athens came in as my 3rd favorite spot, but it still gave us memories I’ll never forget.
1️⃣ The history is unmatched: Walking through The Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum felt like stepping back in time. The Panathenaic Stadium was my favorite. As a former tracklete it definitely felt different being that the first Olympics was there.
2️⃣ The weather was perfect: It was hot but not too hot, though the sun was definitely out to play…it was BEAMING every day.
3️⃣ The food stole the show: Y’all, I’m convinced I had the BEST Greek salad of my entire life in Athens. I don’t know if it was the freshness of the ingredients or what, but it was absolutely chef’s kiss. Every. Single. Bite.
4️⃣ The views? Next level: Athens is a beautiful mix of ancient history and modern charm. There are also had a lot of symbolism… see last photo 😅
5️⃣ The shopping was such a vibe: From unique handmade souvenirs to stylish pieces, Athens had so many affordable gems to choose from. I definitely came back with more than I planned to!
The only downside? There were a few spots that didn’t feel super safe, and you really have to stay on guard for pickpockets. That was the only thing that threw me off a little. I’d recommend a crossbody bag for sure.
Athens was such a beautiful start to our Greek adventure🙂↔️
