How to use ChatGPT to study your Bible! (HOSEA)

Read below to learn my favorite prompt right now!

This is the BEST hack and the way I’ve been able to get through over half the Bible this year already. It’s just so fun to take an hour out of my day to read, learn about (and grow closer to) God, and annotate in my Bible.

My study time looks like this:

1. Grab my Bible and journaling pens, etc. and take them outside

2. Follow the Bible Recap chronological reading plan. Today I finished Hosea!

3. I read a chapter at a time and then ask Chat GPT questions about it.

4. I journal what I find interesting as I go! I really just get as creative as I feel each day with this.

5. After finishing the day’s passages, I listen to The Bible Recap podcast to make sure I understood everything correctly.

My current favorite prompt to type into ChatGPT:

“Help me understand _ (ESV). What are some interesting facts about this chapter? What important things should I make note of in my Bible?”

This has been the absolute BEST resource for me. There are Bible specific AI bots out there but I haven’t found one I enjoy as much as good ole ChatGPT.

I hope this helps you guys out as much as it has for me! 🫶🏻

... Read moreThe integration of AI into Bible study provides a contemporary approach that many find enriching. By utilizing tools like ChatGPT, readers can interactively engage with scripture in a dynamic manner. For instance, when studying the Book of Hosea, users can ask specific questions about chapters and themes, such as the symbolic meanings of the characters and the overarching message of repentance and restoration. This method not only fosters a deeper understanding but also encourages creative expression through journaling and reflection. Moreover, the Bible Recap podcast serves as an excellent supplementary resource. It offers context and commentary that can clarify difficult passages, making the thematic elements of the text more relatable. For instance, understanding Hosea's symbolic marriage to Gomer illuminates the persistent unfaithfulness of Israel towards God, and how this narrative serves a larger prophetic message of hope and redemption. While AI tools provide convenience, it's also vital to combine them with traditional methods of study, such as prayerful reading and discussions with fellow believers. This holistic approach enriches the learning experience, allowing users to connect with the text both intellectually and spiritually. Overall, combining ChatGPT with regular Bible study practices and resources creates a modern framework that enhances one's faith journey, making the scriptures more accessible and engaging.

Please don’t be deceived by something new and convenient. God has given us the Holy Spirit to lead us, guide us and teach us. I’ve been studying the Word for 30 years and the Holy Spirit has been faithful to lead me and teach me. He will do the same for you.
