15 bean soup
I got this recipe from the Good Vibes Cooking facebook page! I used smoked turkey, the 15 bean mix, mustard greens, turnip greens and collard greens! It was so good! 10/10 will make again!
I recently tried making this 15 bean soup recipe and was pleasantly surprised by how filling and nutritious it was. The combination of the 15 bean mix creates a diverse texture and an earthy flavor that pairs wonderfully with the smoky aroma of the turkey. Incorporating mustard greens, turnip greens, and collard greens not only added vibrant color but also boosted the soup’s nutritional profile by providing vitamins and fiber. Cooking the beans properly is key to getting the perfect consistency. I soaked the beans overnight to reduce cooking time and improve digestibility. Using smoked turkey added a depth of flavor that a simple broth wouldn't achieve. It’s great to experiment with different smoked meats like ham hocks or bacon if you want to vary the taste. For seasoning, I kept it simple with salt, pepper, and a little garlic powder, but you can add spices like smoked paprika or cayenne for a bit of heat. This soup stores well in the fridge and tastes even better the next day after the flavors meld. If you're looking for a nutritious, budget-friendly meal, this 15 bean soup with greens is a fantastic option. Perfect for meal prep and a comforting dinner, it's a recipe I’ll definitely keep coming back to.
