meet my cat
this is my crazy orange cat, teddy. as in, ted bundy.
and yes, he is as obsessive and psychotic as ted bundy was.
so first of all, the explanation of why i named him after a serial killer. i am someone who has always had pretty bad hyperfixations since i was a kid. in 2020, i was severely hyperfixated on ted bundy😭 i seriously could not escape my mind thinking about his case at any point of the day, when i was eating, brushing my teeth, doing schoolwork, etc.
during this hyperfixation was when my cat was born, and i took him in. his mother was a barn cat, and unfortunately he was the runt of the litter and she rejected him. the owners of the barn cat posted on facebook, and before i knew it i had a new cat.
there was one catch though. i was told the cat was a girl. i named her stella, and after about a week of having him (meaning he was just about four weeks old) i was pretty sure i was seeing male genitalia, but everyone else was telling me i was crazy.
until he developed more, and everyone realized that he was without a doubt a boy! so, now we needed a new name. and unfortunately, my hyperfixation on ted bundy was pretty bad at this point, and my kitty loved sitting on my lap and watching ted bundy documentaries with me😭 so i said hmm. maybe ted. nope- teddy. he even looks like a teddy bear!
he definitely lived up to the name. on one hand, he is obsessive over me. he follows me everywhere i go in the house, he meows at the door if i leave, and he is super aggressive about getting his nightly cuddles.
on the other hand, he is also crazy. like INSANE. he attacks everyone out of nowhere, and he is strong so that results in cuts and bruises. most of the time i feel like i’m in a very toxic abusive relationship with him💀 he comes in my room, crawls onto my chest and gives me hugs, and then if i move too much he scratches my face and bites me.
