Nails gone wrong
I have been trying to find a nice Salon to go to on Sundays. Not having any luck! This was $55. ðŸ˜
Oh my gosh, I totally relate to 'nails gone wrong' after my recent $55 disaster! Seeing my cuticles all red and even bleeding, plus that heart design looking like a toddler did it, really makes me wonder if I'll ever find a good salon. It's so frustrating when you pay good money for what should be a relaxing treat, only to leave feeling worse than when you walked in. Thinking about my 'poorly executed pink and hot pink nails' with 'visible bleeding around the cuticles,' it really made me realize how important it is to spot red flags in a salon. From my experience, some common reasons nails go wrong are: Rushed Service: They're trying to churn clients, so they skip crucial steps or rush through the detailed work. My 'delicate heart pattern' was anything but delicate! Poor Technique: The nail tech might not be properly trained, leading to uneven application, lumpy finishes, or worse, damage to your natural nails and skin. That's probably why my cuticles were so red and irritated! Unhygienic Tools: This is a big one. If tools aren't sterilized, it can lead to infections, especially if there's any 'red around nails' or broken skin. Always check for proper sanitation! Lack of Communication: Sometimes, the tech just doesn't understand what you want, or doesn't speak up if your desired style isn't achievable. My 'well-manicured nails' vision was clearly lost in translation. So, what do you do when your nails do go wrong, like mine did? Speak Up Immediately: If you're still in the salon and see something you don't like, politely point it out. A good salon will try to fix it. Don't Pay (or Pay Partially): If they can't fix it to your satisfaction, you might refuse to pay or negotiate a lower price. It's tough, but sometimes necessary. I wish I had pushed back on that $55! Take Photos: Document the 'poorly done pink nails' for your own record, especially if you plan to leave a review or dispute the charge. Aftercare for Red Cuticles: If you end up with 'red around nails' or bleeding, gently clean the area, apply an antiseptic cream, and avoid picking. Keep an eye out for signs of infection. To avoid another nail disaster, I've started looking for salons with transparent pricing, clean stations, and technicians who take their time. Reading online reviews (especially looking for mentions of cuticles or polish quality) can also be super helpful. And honestly, sometimes going a little more expensive for a reputable place is worth it to avoid the frustration and pain of 'nails gone wrong.' Learning from my mistakes, I'm now much pickier about where I spend my money for a manicure. What are your tips for finding a great nail salon or dealing with a bad one?
