My New Year is Coming Feb 17!

Sorry for where I am in life, sorry for how I look, sorry for a mistake I’ve made that led to a series of royal mess ups that have hurt me and very important people in my circle. I’ve felt stuck on repeat lately. There are things I would like to change and I deserve a change. I’ve failed to make a change at the start of the new year of 2024. So I’ve decided that my new year will start on my birthday. I will be 26 on the 17th of February. I’m going to start taking care of my mind and body the way it needs. Eating better! Not necessarily eating less but be more intentional with the nutrients I put in my body. My finances will be better, I’m determined. I’m going to get the information and take the jump on schooling. I’m already off to a good start with a few habits. I’ve already done a few months without Facebook or Instagram and have noticed changes in the pressure I feel when it comes to follow conventional norms. That will be something that continues along with reading more. Anyways, I’m babbling without heading anywhere in particular. This may be a way of accountability. To say it out loud and to hold myself to these goals. I’m hell bent on making a better life for myself so that I can be fully involved in being a better partner, mom, and friend.

It’s common to feel stuck and overwhelmed, particularly after the pressures of New Year’s resolutions that often feel unattainable. By choosing my birthday as a fresh start, I embrace a more personalized approach to life changes that align with my values. Eating better doesn't always mean eating less; it involves making conscious choices about nutrition and prioritizing health. Exploring meal planning and understanding the nutritional content of foods can be beneficial. Moreover, financial literacy is vital as it directly impacts stress levels and overall well-being. Gaining control over finances through budgeting can facilitate a smoother path toward academic goals and other aspirations. Stepping away from social media has proven transformative, reducing feelings of inadequacy and comparison. Engaging in hobbies, reading more, and focusing on personal development support a positive mindset. Self-improvement isn't just about meeting societal expectations; it's about being genuinely happy and engaged in life, fostering stronger relationships with those around me, and being a more present partner, mom, and friend.
