How on earth did the cost of living get so high?

Anyone else finding themselves riddled with thoughts of leaving LA? I just started in IT and I am a few bucks short of being low income (since the cutoff is about 71k if I recall). What do you have to make to survive here these days?!

... Read moreThe cost of living in Los Angeles has been a pressing issue for many residents, particularly those just starting their careers. With a minimum income of about $71,000 to not be considered low income, newcomers in fields such as IT often find themselves contemplating their future. Real estate prices are soaring, with rent for one-bedroom apartments averaging over $2,500 per month. Basic expenses, including utilities, groceries, and transportation, add pressure to financial stability. Many are forced to live with roommates or explore affordable neighborhoods further from the city center. Moreover, the economic impact of inflation has exacerbated daily living costs, prompting discussions on effective budgeting and lifestyle adjustments. It’s crucial for residents to research resources for financial assistance and community support. The ongoing dialogue around this topic is critical, as it not only reflects the struggles faced by individuals but also raises awareness for potential solutions to help make life in LA more affordable.

Capitalism! The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. LA is pretty expensive to live, I know I’d never be able to afford it.
