how i got ALL my friends to switch to press ons
I’ve been wearing press ons since i was little and buying them from claire’s. i used to get acrylics at one point but i couldn’t justify paying $60-80 for a simple set when i used to pay $20. i have convinced literally all my friends to start wearing press ons and they love them so much.
press on nails are a much cheaper alternative to acrylics that allow for more creativity and time saving. you can change your nails as often as you want and do your nails anywhere— it takes less than 10 minutes to glue them on. there are so many different designs you can choose from and you can even paint your own for unique designs and colors. I get compliments on my nails all the time and people are always shocked when i tell them they’re press on.
they last just as long. a lot of my friends were skeptical because they thought they would pop off easily, but due to advancements in the glue and strength of the nails, nails will last a minimum of 2 weeks and if one does come off, it takes less than a minute to glue it back on. the kiss glue lasts the longest in my opinion, but the glue that comes in the package should work just as well.
the only cons i can think of is that it’s important that you take care of your natural nail health and cuticles. i recommend the radiant cosmetics nail oil for strengthening and taking off the nails and letting them rest from time to time, as well as removing the nails correctly and not just ripping them off. this is true for any type of artificial nail, including acrylics so it’s not just a con related to press ons.
my favorite nail brands are kiss and opi which you can find at your local drug store and ulta for under $10, the pricier options being about $12-15. my favorite sets are the kiss bare but better (i get asked what nail color im wearing all the time) and the french tips (they’re so classic) as well as the opi special effects press ons that are exclusive to ulta.
