WHAT SHOULD I READ NEXT? 📖
Comment what you think I should read next!
Ghosts by Dolly Alderton
I’ve heard good things about this one & I’ve enjoyed the other book I read by her! I have a feeling I’ll probs pick it up sometime soon, I just feel like I haven’t heard that many people talk about it recently!
All Rhodes Lead Here by Mariana Zapata
I lovedddddd From Lukov With Love by her so I think I’ll enjoy this one! I just haven’t been reading a ton lately so picking up a thick book is extra scary
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
I have no idea when I’ll get to this…. I don’t think I’m gonna absolutely hate it I just think I def need to pick up some other YA fantasies before diving into this “deeper” fantasy
If you’ve read any of these or have heard good things, let me know in the comments so I have a bigger urge to pick some of these up! 🤍

Hey everyone! I totally get it – that feeling of staring at your TBR (To Be Read) pile or scrolling through Goodreads, wondering what amazing story to dive into next. It's a real struggle sometimes, right? Especially when you're in a bit of a reading slump, or just overwhelmed by all the fantastic options out there. Since I'm asking for your help, I thought I'd also share some of my own tips for when I'm trying to figure out what to read next, especially for those of you who might also be looking for your next book recommendations! Tip 1: Mood Reading is Key! I've learned that picking a book based on my current mood is a game-changer. Am I craving a light, feel-good romance like a 'long slow burn' that I can savor? Or do I need something thrilling and suspenseful? Sometimes I'm up for a 'short read' to get me out of a slump, and other times I’m ready to commit to a thick fantasy novel, even if it feels a bit 'fantasy and scary' initially. Thinking about how I feel right now often narrows down the options significantly. Tip 2: Genre Exploration. Don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone! If you mostly read fantasy, maybe try a contemporary romance or a historical fiction. You might discover a whole new favorite genre. For instance, I usually stick to contemporary, but I’ve been eyeing some fantasy lately, even if a 'deeper' fantasy like Six of Crows feels intimidating. You never know until you try! Tip 3: Look at Your Past Loves. What books have you absolutely adored in the past? Sometimes, revisiting an author you loved or a genre that consistently hits the spot is the safest bet. That's why I'm considering Mariana Zapata again – 'From Lukov With Love' was just *chef's kiss*! If you know what works for you, it’s a great starting point for finding your next book. Tip 4: Check out Goodreads & Book Community Buzz. Goodreads ratings and reviews are my go-to for checking if a book is generally well-received. But I also love seeing what my friends are reading on Lemon8, Bookstagram, or BookTok! Hearing personal takes can be so much more compelling than just a synopsis. If a lot of people are raving about something, it often piques my interest. It also helps to see if a 'short read' is actually impactful or if a 'long slow burn' delivers on its promise. Tip 5: The "First Chapter" Test. When I'm really undecided, I'll read the first chapter (or even just the first few pages) of a couple of contenders. If it grabs me immediately, that's often the winner. It's a low-commitment way to test the waters without fully diving in. This is especially helpful if you're worried about a book being 'too deep' or 'scary' in its genre. Choosing your next book should be exciting, not stressful! I hope these little tips help you on your own quest for the perfect read. Now, back to my dilemma – seriously, what should I read next?!
