interior design & content day

2025/2/11 Edited to

... Read moreYou've seen a glimpse of my whirlwind day, but there's always so much more happening behind the scenes! What you don't always see are the countless decisions and creative processes that go into making those staged homes look perfect and creating engaging content. Let's talk about selecting decor and accessories – it's an art in itself! When I'm at the warehouse, picking out those 'statement pots', beautiful vases, candles, and even those rustic wooden beads, I'm not just grabbing things I like. I'm thinking about the specific property, its potential buyers, and the overall aesthetic we want to achieve. For instance, for a modern living room, I might lean towards minimalist vases and sleek accessories, while a more traditional space might call for ornate candles and classic wooden elements. And 'greenery' is always a must – it instantly brings life into any room, whether it's a real plant or a high-quality artificial one. It's all about creating an inviting atmosphere that potential homeowners can immediately connect with. Home staging itself is fascinating. For the formal dining room, the goal is often elegance and inviting potential buyers to imagine hosting special dinners. That's why selecting the right table setup, chairs, and even a striking chandelier is key to setting the mood. In the living room, comfort meets style. A soft sofa, a chic marble coffee table, and carefully curated built-in shelves filled with decor can transform a space. I love to play with textures and layers to create a cozy, yet sophisticated, atmosphere around a fireplace – making it feel warm and lived-in, even if it's currently empty. Even the 'cutie lil movie/play room' for kids gets special attention. It's about creating a fun, functional, and safe space that parents can immediately envision their children enjoying. Incorporating playful elements like a cowhide-patterned ottoman or vibrant blankets makes it instantly appealing, suggesting a space where memories can be made. Every detail counts in telling a story about the home. Beyond the staging, there’s the content creation. Sharing my 'day in the life' moments, from early morning breakfast & hydrate routines to quick caffeine stops, isn't just about documenting. It's about connecting with you, showing the reality of running an interior design business, and hopefully inspiring others. The 'editing content' phase at 3:00 pm is where it all comes together, turning raw footage into a compelling story for platforms like Lemon8. It takes patience and a keen eye to select the best moments and present them beautifully. For those curious about different styles, like 'English interiors,' it's all about warmth, comfort, and often a rich history. Think classic wallpaper, cozy textiles, antique furniture, and a blend of patterns. While the projects in my day might lean more contemporary, understanding various styles helps me adapt to any client's vision. Whether it’s a sleek modern look or a charming English cottage feel, the principles of space planning, lighting, and thoughtful decor remain central to creating a harmonious home. My advice for aspiring interior designers or content creators? Embrace every part of the process, from the early morning planning to the late afternoon editing. Each step is an opportunity to learn, grow, and create something beautiful. It's a demanding but incredibly rewarding journey, constantly evolving with new trends and client needs!
