Baby Items I Bought But Didn’t Use ✨🍼
From my experience, preparing for a new baby means lots of research and buying what seems essential, but not everything gets used as expected. For instance, I bought the Frida Baby MediFrida Accu-Dose and expected it to be a must-have for medicine administration, but we ended up just using the syringe that comes with the medicine. It was simple and effective, making the extra gadget unnecessary. Another product on my list was the Diaper Genie SIGNATURE Diaper Disposal System. While it promised to control odors, we found ourselves only using it at night. Most of the time, diapers were disposed of in the trash downstairs without noticing much smell, so this item became less critical than anticipated. Burp cloths were another item I overestimated. Since my baby rarely spit up during the newborn months, we barely used them then. Now, they’ve become more useful for drool as she grows. Still, I’d recommend stocking up just in case, as every baby’s needs vary. We also had a diaper caddy that stays downstairs and gets frequent use, which I found more practical than a specific changing station. My baby is often changed on convenient spots like the couch or bed, so portability was key. Regarding pacifiers, she didn’t take to them at first, even though I thought she would love them. Recently, she started using one mainly for sleep, so some items might find their moment later than expected. In conclusion, while it’s tempting to buy all the recommended baby gear, it’s helpful to remember that each baby is unique and some items may not fit your routine. Prioritize basics and remain flexible. Sharing these candid experiences helps other parents avoid unnecessary purchases and focus on what truly works for their family.
