Salmon, butternut squash and asparagus for dinner
Preparing a dinner with salmon, butternut squash, and asparagus is one of my favorite ways to enjoy a balanced, flavorful meal. Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are great for heart health and brain function. When paired with butternut squash, which offers a sweet and creamy texture along with vitamins A and C, the dish becomes nutritionally well-rounded. Asparagus brings an additional layer of freshness and provides fiber, vitamins, and minerals that contribute to digestion and immune support. One tip I’ve found helpful when cooking this meal is to roast the butternut squash and asparagus with a drizzle of olive oil, salt, pepper, and a bit of garlic. Roasting brings out the natural sweetness of the vegetables and adds a lovely caramelized flavor. For the salmon, seasoning it simply with lemon juice, dill, and a pinch of salt allows the natural flavors to shine. Baking the salmon alongside the vegetables on a sheet pan can make cleanup easy and ensures everything finishes cooking at the same time. This meal is not only delicious but also quick to prepare, making it perfect for busy weeknights. You can customize it by adding herbs like thyme or rosemary or a sprinkle of parmesan cheese over the vegetables. It pairs well with a light salad or quinoa for added texture. Overall, the combination of salmon, butternut squash, and asparagus offers a satisfying and nutritious dinner option that supports a healthy lifestyle with minimal fuss.
