This delay often reduces the impulse and allows rational thinking to take over. Additionally, understanding triggers that amplify impulsive buying is crucial. For me, stress or boredom are major triggers, so finding alternative activities like exercise or hobbies helps divert attention. Support networks, such as ADHD support groups or accountability partners, provide encouragement and shared strategies. These communities have been instrumental in normalizing experiences and offering practical tips. Ultimately, while ADHD can make managing purchases more difficult, developing tailored coping mechanisms and maintaining self-awareness can significantly improve control over financial habits and reduce feelings of being outmatched by impulsive buying urges.
