10 years later and I’m so beyond grateful to be able to help women heal their relationship with exercise and food the way I healed mine 🥹 #ketocoachbre #pilatesbybre #athomepilates #matpilatesclass
Over the past decade, my perspective on exercise has completely transformed. I used to view working out as a form of punishment—something I had to do to offset binge eating episodes. This mindset created a toxic cycle that drained my energy and joy. But through Pilates, I found a gentle and empowering way to reconnect with my body and mind. What I love about Pilates is that it emphasizes mindful movement and body awareness, which encourages you to appreciate what your body can do rather than punishing it for what it might look like. When I started teaching Pilates, I realized how many women share this struggle with exercise and food. Helping others fall in love with Pilates and learn to enjoy moving their bodies has been incredibly rewarding. If you’re feeling trapped in a negative relationship with exercise, I recommend trying Pilates at home or in a mat Pilates class. It can be nurturing for both your physical health and your mental wellbeing. Over time, you can shift from exercising out of obligation to exercising because you genuinely enjoy it and want to nourish your body. Remember, healing your relationship with food and movement is a journey. Small steps, like swapping punishing workouts for Pilates sessions focused on breath and control, can lead to long-lasting positive changes. It’s possible to find balance, to move with intention, and to treat yourself with kindness along the way.
