I loved living in St. Pete for six months this year, especially because I got to experience so many beautiful hidden gems. If you are on a budget or just want to find things to do within the community, I highly advise checking out some of the places listed. They each are one of my favorites!

For nature lovers, Boyd Hill Nature Preserve offers three miles of picturesque trails for just $3 entry. Not only will you immerse yourself in Florida's native landscape, but you can also explore its animal education center. For an artsy twist, visit Bananas Records, a sprawling record store with multiple listening stations that make it a paradise for music lovers—all at no cost. If you're traveling with your furry friend, Fort De Soto Dog Beach is a fantastic free spot to soak up some sun and socialize with fellow dog owners. Alternatively, Friends of Strays-Cat Box offers a unique opportunity to connect with animals in need, allowing visitors to volunteer or simply enjoy the cat sanctuary for free. For those interested in stunning flora, Sunken Gardens is one of the oldest roadside attractions in the US. Access is often free to cardholders of the St. Pete public library, making it an inexpensive way to spend a lovely afternoon among tropical plants. Additionally, Tropicana Field frequently hosts events and games at affordable prices, making it possible to experience local sports without breaking the bank.
