Filmmaking is truly an immersive art form that allows creators to tell stories that resonate deeply with audiences. In my experience working on projects like "Becoming a Ballerina," I found that filming real lives and authentic journeys brings an unmatched sense of fulfillment. Capturing genuine emotions and the dedication behind someone's dream can be challenging yet incredibly rewarding. During my final year of film studies, collaborating with a talented team—like Garrett Lintz on Director of Photography and Liana Martinelli as Producer—added layers of professionalism and creativity to the project. Working with sound designer Kiley Graham helped enrich the sensory experience, making every frame come alive. Projects created in an academic environment, such as this one made at California State University Sacramento, provide a safe space to experiment and grow as a filmmaker. They shape not only technical skills but also personal vision and storytelling voice. This creative journey is pivotal for anyone aiming to impact viewers and inspire change. What truly stood out for me was the connection established between the film and real life—showing not just ballet but the perseverance, growth, and emotion behind the art. This approach underscores why I love storytelling through filmmaking: it documents human experience in ways words alone cannot. Sharing such moments lives on beyond the screen, influencing both creator and audience alike.
should I drop more of my film projects?? 👀🎬
