My First Fountain Pen Experience ✨✒️
I finally took the plunge into the world of fountain pens, and I couldn’t have chosen a better first pen, my TWSBI Smoke Rose Gold Eco (Fine nib)! The combination of the sleek smoke finish with the rose gold accents is absolutely stunning.
For my first ink, I went with De Atramentis Document Black, a rich, waterproof black that flows beautifully. I was a little nervous about using a piston filler for the first time, but TWSBI’s design made it super easy!
So far, I’m loving how smooth the Fine nib writes. There’s just enough feedback to feel satisfying, but it’s still a dream to glide across the page. Plus, the ink’s deep black color really pops on my stationery!

It's been so much fun diving into the world of fountain pens with my TWSBI Smoke Rose Gold Eco! That ‘smoke’ color, combined with the rose gold, really gives it such a sophisticated, almost cozy vibe that makes me think of my favorite coffee shop. It got me thinking about what a ‘TWSBI coffee collection’ would even look like, and how my pen totally fits that aesthetic! Even though TWSBI doesn't have an official ‘coffee collection’ line, I feel like many of their pens, especially the Ecos and 580s, could easily be part of one. Imagine an Eco in a rich, dark brown or a deep, warm amber – perfect for sipping a latte and journaling. My Smoke Rose Gold Eco, with its slightly translucent, smoky barrel, feels like a perfectly brewed espresso. It's not just the color, but the whole experience: the weight, the feel, the way the ink flows. It's like a warm, comforting ritual, much like enjoying a good cup of coffee. When it comes to inks for a ‘coffee collection,’ the possibilities are endless! My De Atramentis Document Black is a fantastic choice because its rich, deep black perfectly mimics a strong, dark roast. And knowing it's a waterproof, handmade ink from Germany just adds to that feeling of quality and tradition, much like a gourmet coffee blend. But I've also been eyeing some beautiful brown inks – maybe a warm sepia or a deep chocolate brown for those days when I want something lighter than black but still within the coffee theme. Imagine pairing a TWSBI Eco in a clear or amber barrel with an ink that looks like a caramel swirl! Other great options could be dark blues that resemble a midnight coffee blend or even some muted greens for a “matcha latte” vibe if you want to stretch the theme a bit. Beyond the pens themselves, a ‘coffee collection’ also extends to the whole writing setup. I love using my TWSBI Eco at my favorite cafe, paired with a nice journal. The transparency of the TWSBI barrel is also fantastic; you can always see your ink level, which is super practical, especially when you're out and about. It's such a satisfying feeling to see that rich black ink swirling inside the pen. And for those who love to sketch or draw, having a waterproof ink like the De Atramentis Document Black is a huge bonus – no smudging when you add watercolors or markers later! So, if you're like me and you appreciate pens with a warm, inviting aesthetic that conjures up images of cozy coffee shops and thoughtful writing sessions, definitely consider a TWSBI Eco, especially in a smoky or warm-toned color. It might not be officially part of a “coffee collection,” but it certainly fits the bill for creating your own personalized, coffee-inspired writing setup. What TWSBI pens or inks would you add to your dream ‘coffee collection’?

Great choice! I love my Twsbi fountain pens 🖊 😍!
