... Read moreHey Lemon8 fam! So many of you asked about my daily eats for weight loss, especially around my fasting schedule. It's truly a journey, and I’m excited to share more of what I’ve learned about making those crucial meal choices, especially for breaking a fast and setting up for a good night's rest. For me, the key to successful weight loss isn't just about what I eat, but when and how I approach my meals, particularly after a fasting period. When it's time to *break my fast*, usually around 12:30 pm, I aim for something satisfying yet mindful. You might have seen my go-to: a delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich paired with a few chips and a drink. I know, a PB&J might not sound like your typical "diet" food, but for me, it's about balance and enjoying what I eat without feeling deprived. I choose whole-wheat bread, natural peanut butter (for healthy fats and protein), and a low-sugar jelly. The chips are a small indulgence that keeps me on track without feeling restricted. This meal gives me the energy I need, especially before diving into my daily movement, like that 42-minute walk I usually take. It's about fueling my body smart, not just starving it. I've found that starting with a satisfying meal helps prevent overeating later in the day. Hydration is also super important before and during this first meal, so I always make sure to have plenty of water. Then comes what I consider my "last meal" of the day, typically around 4:30 pm. This is where I pack in the nutrients to keep me full and satisfied through the evening. My favorite is a big, colorful salad! I love building it with fresh greens, some crumbled cheese for flavor, sweet mandarin oranges for a burst of freshness, creamy avocado for healthy fats, and grilled chicken for lean protein. A light drizzle of Asian Sesame dressing ties it all together beautifully. This meal is light enough not to feel heavy before my extended fast, but substantial enough to carry me through without late-night cravings. After this, I usually take a lighter, 20-minute walk to help with digestion and get some extra steps in. Eating my last meal earlier in the evening has been a game-changer for my digestion and sleep quality, which are both so vital for weight loss. Beyond these specific meals, my overall weight loss journey incorporates a consistent workout routine and a mindful fasting schedule. It’s not just about restricting calories; it’s about making smarter choices that nourish your body and support your activity levels. I encourage you to experiment with what works best for your body and your schedule. Breaking your fast and planning your last meal are powerful tools in managing hunger and energy throughout your day. Remember, consistency and enjoying the process are key! What are your go-to fast-breaking or last meals?
