Wow, if you're looking for an unforgettable animal adventure, you absolutely have to check out Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch! I just had the most incredible time there, and honestly, my 5/5 rating doesn't even begin to cover it. It's such a unique place where you get to interact with so many different creatures – not just ostriches! One of the highlights for me was definitely the stingray encounter. There's this gorgeous blue pool where you can actually feed them! It's such a cool experience to have their soft bodies brush against your hand as they glide by for a snack. I was a bit nervous at first, but it quickly became one of my favorite parts. It's amazing how gentle they are. Then there were the lorikeets – oh my goodness, these little guys are so vibrant and full of personality! You get a small cup of nectar, and they just flock to you. I admit, I was low-key scared when they first landed on my hands and arms, but their colorful feathers and gentle sips are just enchanting. It’s a truly immersive experience that you don't often get at other places. And of course, the ostriches! They are majestic and, well, a little cheeky! I was getting some great photos through the metal fence, and one of them actually lunged at me – definitely felt like it almost bit me! It was a good reminder to respect their space, but it also added to the thrill of the day. You can really see their long necks and curious eyes up close. Beyond the big birds, they have other wonderful animals too. There's a sweet, spotted deer who was incredibly friendly. It kept licking my hand too many times, which was both ticklish and endearing. And I can't forget the giant tortoise, Miz Mc RuEEN!!? I chuckled when I saw 'Lightning McQueen' written on its shell – such a clever touch! These smaller interactions make the whole ranch feel so personal and charming. For anyone planning a visit, I highly recommend going on a weekday if you can, as it might be a bit less crowded. Definitely bring your camera because you'll want to capture all these moments! Make sure to grab some feed buckets for the different animals – that's where the real fun begins. Wear comfy shoes because you'll be doing a fair bit of walking, and maybe a hat and sunscreen, especially on sunny days. It’s a fantastic spot for all ages, and I'm already planning my next trip to take my siblings. You'll leave with a huge smile and some amazing stories, just like I did!
