Yalllll!!!!! This book was soooo good. I loved it!! I definitely give it a 5 star read. I thought I knew what was kinda going to happen in the middle of the story but per usual Frieda twisted the whole story and turn it into a plot I never even thought of. The ending made me very happy and it didn’t let me down. Frieda you always do yo big one girl and always leave me satisfied at the end of the story!!!!#freidamcfadden #greatreads #lemon8bookclub #plottwist

... Read moreI completely agree with the original review – Freida McFadden has done it again! Seriously, if you're looking for a book that will absolutely mess with your head in the best possible way, 'The Tenant' is a must-read. Like many of her fans, I pick up a Freida book specifically for those jaw-dropping, page-turning plot twists, and this one delivered spectacularly. Speaking of 'The Tenant,' that cover alone—a hand reaching from a slightly open pink door with red splatters—sets such an eerie mood, doesn't it? It perfectly hints at the psychological suspense Freida McFadden is so brilliant at crafting. And honestly, Riley Sager's quote on the cover? It only adds to the intrigue, promising exactly the kind of thrilling ride you get when you dive into her stories. It's that initial visual and the promise of a quote from another suspense master that truly draws you in, setting the stage for what's to come. What makes Freida McFadden’s plot twists so incredibly shocking? For me, it’s her masterful use of misdirection. She has this uncanny ability to make you absolutely certain you know what’s going on, only to pull the rug out from under you with such force you wonder how you ever fell for it. She often builds her narratives around seemingly ordinary situations, then slowly introduces unsettling elements, unreliable narrators, and subtle clues that, in hindsight, were screaming the truth. But when you’re in the thick of it, you’re too busy following the red herrings she so expertly lays out. It’s like she’s playing a clever game of chess with your expectations, always several moves ahead. I remember reading 'The Tenant' and thinking, 'Okay, I've got this. I know the twist.' Then, BAM! A revelation hit me that completely recontextualized everything I'd just read. It's not just a small surprise; it's a fundamental shift in understanding. That feeling of being utterly fooled, yet completely satisfied, is what keeps me coming back to her books every single time. It's a testament to her skill that even after reading several of her novels, I still can't predict her endings. If you're as obsessed with Freida McFadden's most shocking plot twists as I am, you’ll find that 'The Tenant' definitely holds its own amongst her other fantastic works. Books like 'The Housemaid,' with its chilling secrets, or 'The Locked Door,' which also features a deeply unsettling premise, showcase her consistent ability to deliver those knockout punches. Each book offers a unique flavor of suspense, but the common thread is always that brilliant, unexpected turn that leaves you breathless. If you haven't explored her full catalog, I highly recommend diving into more of her thrillers – prepare to be shocked, delighted, and thoroughly entertained!
