Infected COD6
Hey everyone! I've been diving back into one of my all-time favorite game modes: Infected in Call of Duty 6 (Modern Warfare 2). Seriously, the nostalgia hit me hard, and I just had to share some thoughts and tips after a few epic sessions. If you haven't played it in a while, or even if you're new to the COD universe and wondering what the hype is about, you're in for a treat! For the uninitiated, Infected is pure chaos and adrenaline. One player starts as the 'Infected' – usually wielding knives and tactical inserts – while everyone else is a 'Survivor,' armed with their loadouts. The goal for the Infected is to turn all Survivors into Infected before time runs out. For Survivors, it's about staying alive and eliminating the advancing horde. Every kill by an Infected player converts a Survivor, making the game progressively more challenging and intense. My recent sessions have been a blast. There's nothing quite like the panic of being the last Survivor standing, hearing the Infected close in, and somehow pulling off a clutch play to secure that 'WINNER'S CIRCLE' status. I've had moments where I've gotten so many 'BLOOOTHIRSTY' streaks as an Infected, just tearing through the remaining Survivors. And as a Survivor, landing those crucial 'LONG SHOT' eliminations with a sniper or LMG from a high vantage point feels incredibly satisfying. You really have to master movement and positioning. Sometimes, even when I'm 'KILLED WITH' a surprising melee, I can't help but admire the infected player's sneakiness! So, how do you survive the horde? My number one tip is positioning. Find a high ground or a chokepoint that's easy to defend. Weapons with high ammo capacity like LMGs or assault rifles are your best friends. Don't forget to lay down claymores or bouncing betties to cover your flanks. Communication with your teammates is key, too! Call out incoming Infected, and try to stick together, but not too close – you don't want to get wiped out by a single infected rushing in. Using perks like Scavenger to resupply ammo or SitRep to detect enemy equipment can also give you a huge edge. And remember, sometimes going 'GING-HO' with a shotgun can clear a path when you're cornered, but usually, measured movements are better. On the flip side, if you start as the Infected, your strategy is all about overwhelming the Survivors. Don't rush in one by one; coordinate with your fellow Infected. Flanking is super effective, especially on maps with multiple entry points. Use your tactical inserts (like throwing knives or stun grenades) to disrupt defenses or get quick kills. Sometimes, sacrificing yourself to break through a chokepoint allows your teammates to flood in. Learning the map's shortcuts and hidden paths is crucial for surprise attacks. The faster you convert Survivors, the more allies you gain, turning the tide quickly in your favor. Infected mode in COD6 is more than just a game; it's an experience. The adrenaline, the tension, the sheer fun of either being the hunter or the hunted – it's just so addictive. Whether you're aiming for that 'BEST PLAY' highlight reel or just looking for some casual fun, this mode delivers.
