How much time I spent at the library this week
This was an absurd amount of time but it went by in a breeze. I have a gap between my classes and softball practice so usually I pack my lunch and go do schoolwork in the library, I don’t have a lot of time after practice to do school work because I have actual work.
When do you work on your school work?

Following up on my library study week, I've had many of you ask how I manage to squeeze in so much dedicated study time, especially with a packed schedule of classes, softball, and a part-time job. It's definitely a juggling act, but I’ve found that making the most of every minute at the library – my personal sanctuary, often the peaceful Russell and Susie Arning Resource Center – is absolutely crucial for keeping my grades up and aiming for that 4.0 GPA. My secret weapon? Strategic library study time. It's not just about being there; it's about making those hours incredibly productive. For instance, on Monday and Tuesday, I dedicated over two hours each day to biology lectures, discussions, and perfecting my flashcards. This focused block allows me to absorb complex information and immediately test my understanding. I've learned that breaking down my tasks into specific subjects and goals for each library visit helps immensely. Whether it's diving deep into biology or catching up on nutrition and health, having a clear objective prevents wasted time. Wednesday was a mix, tackling nutrition, health, and history. Instead of trying to cram everything, I'd allocate specific chunks to each. For history, it might be reviewing lecture notes, while for nutrition, it could be working through practice problems. The quiet environment of the library, free from distractions at home, enables this kind of deep work. A huge part of my library routine involves using and creating flashcards, as you saw with my biology study on Thursday. They're not just for memorization – the act of creating them helps with active recall, and editing them, as I did for another 2 hours 41 minutes of biology, ensures they're perfect for review. This consistent review is vital for reinforcing what I learn in classes. Of course, it’s not all nose-in-books! Even a 4.0 college student needs a break. That's why Friday was a designated rest day from the library, allowing me to hit the gym for a run. Physical activity helps clear my head and recharges me for the next week's challenges. In total, those 9 hours and 24 minutes of library study time this week were meticulously planned to ensure I'm making progress without burning out. If you're struggling to find your rhythm, I highly recommend finding your own dedicated study space and experimenting with different techniques like flashcards and focused subject blocks.
