จากประสบการณ์ของคนที่เติบโตมากับซีรีส์ยุค 90 อย่าง Beach Boys ผมเห็นว่าเสน่ห์ของเรื่องนี้ไม่ได้อยู่ที่ความรักโรแมนติก แต่เป็นการสื่อถึงมิตรภาพลึกซึ้งระหว่างเพื่อนชาย ที่สะท้อนให้เห็นว่าความผูกพันไม่จำเป็นต้องมีชื่อเรียกหรือคำจำกัดความใดๆ นั่นทำให้ซีรีส์นี้คงความอมตะและน่าประทับใจตลอดมา ถ้าจะพูดถึงการรีเมคเป็นเวอร์ชันไทย ผมคิดว่าความท้าทายคือต้องรักษาแก่นแท้ของเรื่องไว้ คือการแสดงให้เห็นถึงความแตกต่างของบุคลิกแต่กลับเติมเต็มกันได้ระหว่างตัวละครหลักอย่างฮิโรมิและไคโตะ และการถ่ายทอดภาพความสัมพันธ์ที่อบอุ่นแต่ไม่หวานเลี่ยนเหมือนในซีรีส์แนวรักทั่วไป อีกสิ่งที่น่าสนใจคือการเลือกนักแสดงที่มีเคมีและสามารถถ่ายทอดความรู้สึกแบบ “มิตรภาพลูกผู้ชาย” ได้จริงๆ ไม่จำเป็นต้องมาจากแนวคู่จิ้นหรือรักใคร่แต่อย่างใด เพราะในยุคนี้ เราเห็นนักแสดงหลายคนสามารถสร้างความหลากหลายและมิติของตัวละครได้ดี ส่วนตัวผมเชื่อว่าการใช้ฉากทะเล ฤดูร้อน และบรรยากาศที่เป็นธรรมชาติเป็นตัวช่วยสื่ออารมณ์และความรู้สึกภายในตัวละครนั้นๆ จะช่วยดึงดูดใจผู้ชมรุ่นใหม่และสร้างความรู้สึกย้อนยุคในขณะเดียวกัน นอกจากนี้ การใส่ใจในบทพูดและการเล่าเรื่องที่ไม่ควรซับซ้อนเกินไป จะทำให้ซีรีส์กลายเป็นงานศิลป์ที่เป็นมากกว่าความบันเทิง สุดท้าย การเปิดโอกาสให้แฟนๆ ได้ร่วมแสดงความคิดเห็นและเลือกนักแสดงที่อยากเห็น รับรองว่าจะทำให้โปรเจกต์นี้มีความน่าสนใจและได้รับการตอบรับอย่างอบอุ่น ปลุกความคิดถึงและสร้างความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคนในยุคเดียวกันให้แข็งแกร่งขึ้นอีกด้วย หวังว่า Beach Boys Thailand จะไม่เพียงแค่รีเมค แต่จะเป็นการส่งต่อความทรงจำและมิตรภาพอันงดงามให้คนรุ่นใหม่ได้สัมผัสและเรียนรู้ไปพร้อมกันอย่างแท้จริง
