Anime: Recently watched 🌸
I have really been indulging in romance lately 🥰
🦋Paradise Kiss - 8/10
I would say if you enjoyed NANA you would most likely enjoy this anime. It’s mature and has a nostalgic feel to it with the animation style. Without giving away too much, the main character is a student that gets approached by a few art school students to be their model for a fashion show and progressively falls for the head designer of the art student group. The romance made me feel a bit empty at the end but I really enjoyed watching Paradise Kiss.
🌷A Sign of Affection - 10/10
I can honestly say that A Sign of Affection has quickly made my list of go to comfort anime shows. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did but it’s so warm and romantic 😊. Honestly there’s nothing I can complain about with this anime other than the amount of blushing I did 😅. The main character is hearing impaired and attends college. On her regular commute, she meets a student that also goes to the same college but is a travel enthusiast. Once he learns about the main characters impairment, he starts to want to see the world as she does. They both begin to fall for each other in the process of them opening up to each other and seeing the world from each other’s perspective.

Stepping deeper into the anime worlds of 'Paradise Kiss' and 'A Sign of Affection' has been such a journey, and I'm excited to share even more about what makes these romance series stand out! Let's talk more about 'Paradise Kiss.' The original article touched on its mature themes and nostalgic feel, which truly sets it apart. For fans who enjoyed 'NANA,' the comparison is spot on due to its realistic portrayal of relationships and personal struggles. The characters are incredibly complex. Yukari Hayasaka's transformation from a directionless student to a confident model, guided by the enigmatic George Koizumi, is fascinating to watch. George himself is a whirlwind of artistic passion and emotional distance, making their dynamic incredibly compelling. And who could forget Isabella? Her wisdom and gentle support add so much depth to the group. The fashion aspect, especially the unique and bold 'Paradise Kiss anime outfits' designed by the characters, isn't just window dressing; it's central to their self-expression and the story's overall aesthetic. Even the 'Paradise Kiss anime opening' perfectly captures the vibrant yet slightly melancholic tone of the series, drawing you in from the first note. When I mentioned feeling a bit empty at the end, it wasn't a negative; it was the bittersweet realism of a story where not everything ties up in a neat bow, reflecting the messy beauty of growing up and finding your path. Now, for 'A Sign of Affection,' my 10/10 comfort anime! The love story between Yuki Itose and Itsuomi Nagi is pure warmth. What makes it so special is how they connect despite Yuki's hearing impairment. Itsuomi's genuine desire to understand her world, learning sign language and adapting his communication, is incredibly touching. Their relationship develops through shared experiences and a deep mutual respect, making every interaction feel authentic and heartwarming. The anime beautifully showcases the nuances of non-verbal communication and the joy of finding someone who truly sees and appreciates you. The art style, with its soft colors and gentle character designs (like those seen in the 'A Sign of Affection' character images), only enhances the tender atmosphere, making it a perfect pick-me-up watch. If you're like me and constantly searching for 'animes like Paradise Kiss,' I have a few recommendations that capture similar vibes. Beyond 'NANA,' which is a must-watch for its mature themes and character focus, consider 'Princess Jellyfish.' It also revolves around a quirky group of individuals finding themselves and their passions, with a strong emphasis on fashion and self-acceptance. Another great choice is 'Honey and Clover,' which explores the lives and loves of art school students, dealing with unrequited love, career choices, and personal growth in a very thoughtful way. These series, like 'Paradise Kiss,' offer more than just simple romance; they delve into personal development, complex relationships, and the search for identity, making them incredibly fulfilling watches. I hope these deeper dives help you appreciate these amazing anime even more!

I’ve been meaning to watch a sign of affection!!!
