... Read moreIt's funny how often height comes up in conversations, whether it's about celebrities or just everyday life. People are naturally curious, sometimes even searching things like 'Brent Fiyaz height' to see where they stack up, or just out of pure interest! For me, being 5'10" has always been a defining part of who I am, and it’s something I’ve learned to truly embrace. Growing up as a tall daughter definitely came with its unique set of experiences, and I wanted to share a bit about that journey. From a young age, I was always the tallest in my class, towering over most of my friends and even some adults. My parents, while supportive, sometimes had their own challenges finding clothes that fit me properly – those dreaded 'high waters' were a real struggle! I remember countless shopping trips ending in frustration, wishing for jeans with a longer inseam or sleeves that actually reached my wrists. It’s a common story for many tall daughters, and it really shaped my early perception of my height. I often felt like I stood out, and sometimes, that wasn't always a comfortable feeling. There were moments of awkwardness, like during school dances where I felt self-conscious about my height compared to my peers, or when people would constantly comment on how tall I was getting. While usually well-intentioned, these comments could sometimes make me feel like my height was the only thing people noticed about me. Navigating social situations as a tall girl required a bit of extra confidence, something I had to actively build over time. However, as I grew older, my perspective shifted dramatically. I started to see my height not as a challenge, but as a superpower! Being 5'10" means I can reach things on the top shelf, I have a great view at concerts (sorry, not sorry!), and I often feel a sense of presence and strength. It's amazing how much confidence can come from standing tall, both literally and figuratively. I've learned that embracing my unique physicality is a huge part of self-love. For any other tall daughters out there, or parents of tall girls wondering how to best support them, here are a few things I’ve learned: Embrace the hunt for clothes: Online shopping has been a game-changer for finding brands that cater to taller frames. Look for 'tall' or 'long' sections – they exist! Don't shy away from tailoring either; a good tailor can make a huge difference. Posture is key: Standing tall with good posture not only makes you look more confident but also helps prevent back issues. It's a small change that makes a big impact. Your height is your asset: Whether it's for sports, modeling, or just making a memorable first impression, your height can be a significant advantage. Own it! Deal with comments gracefully: You'll probably hear "Wow, you're tall!" a lot. A simple "Thanks!" or "Yep, I am!" often suffices. You don't owe anyone an explanation for your natural build. Find your community: Connecting with other tall individuals, whether online or in person, can be incredibly validating and a great source of tips and encouragement. My journey as a 5'10" tall girl has been a unique adventure, filled with learning, growing, and ultimately, a deep appreciation for who I am. I'm excited to share more about my experiences here on Lemon8, and I hope to connect with many of you who share similar stories or are just curious about life from a slightly higher perspective!

African? Nice to meet you!
I’m originally from Cameroon 🇨🇲 and it’s interesting how I’ve met more Africans since moving to the US than in Africa. #westafrican #africangirl #mixed🇳🇬🇺🇸 #cameroonian #lemon8creative #fashionlovers
