Have you ever wondered how much prep goes into a robotic laparoscopic procedure?

Here’s a quick look at what we do before the first cut:

🥼 Step 1: Prepare a sterile field — we make sure all instruments are opened safely and aseptic techniques are maintained.

🤖 Step 2: Gather all robotic instruments and port components (like trocars, robotic forceps, and scissors) — we need them ready at a moment’s notice.

🛠 Step 3: Assemble and check the robotic arms’ adapters to be sure everything fits and locks properly.

🔹 Step 4: Prepare the camera, light cord, and energy instruments — these are key to visibility and dissection.

🚀 Step 5: Perform a final count and check — make sure we have everything we need and nothing is missing.

As a scrub tech, we’re the OR’s silent heroes — we keep the team organized, prepared, and a few steps ahead of the surgeon.
