Before today I never listened to a Tyler, The Creator song fully but I’ve been trying to step outside of my comfort zone and listened to his newest album, CHROMAKOPIA. 🩶
I found the a lot of the songs to be deeper and hold more meaning than their face value would offer. Also watched the music video for “Noid” and thought it was visually stunning and engaging. 👌
Did anyone else listen to the album and what did you think? 🤔

... Read moreWow, diving deeper into Tyler, The Creator's CHROMAKOPIA after my initial listen has been an experience! I initially mentioned how profound I found the songs, but honestly, it’s only gotten richer with each play. The album isn't just music; it's a whole world.
One of the first things that truly captivated me, even before hitting play, was the CHROMAKOPIA album cover. That striking black and white portrait of Tyler, with that intriguing yellow cartoon character peeking out, immediately sets such a unique, slightly unsettling yet playful tone. It really makes you wonder about the layers within before you even hear a note. It’s definitely one of those covers that sticks with you and makes you want to explore what's behind it.
Then there are the tracks themselves. I've been seeing a lot of buzz around "Like Him (feat. Lola Young)," and I totally get why. Lola Young's contribution on this track is absolutely stunning; her voice adds such a raw, beautiful layer to Tyler's intricate production. The lyrics are incredibly evocative, painting vivid pictures and exploring complex emotions that truly resonate. It's one of those songs you find yourself replaying, trying to catch every nuance. It feels deeply personal, almost like a conversation you're privileged to overhear.
Speaking of emotions, the album definitely has its moments that hit hard. I noticed the "crying emojis" overlaid on one of the music player screens in the images, and it perfectly encapsulates some of the feelings CHROMAKOPIA evokes. There are tracks that just make you feel something profound, whether it's introspection, melancholy, or even a sense of longing. Tyler has a way of crafting these really impactful, almost cathartic, sonic experiences.
And who else caught that "Where my club shoes at? 👠👠" line? That little detail, which I saw on another screen, just adds to the album's unique personality and playful yet deep vibe. It makes you think about the different facets of identity and expression Tyler explores throughout the project. It’s these small, quirky touches that make the album so distinctly *him*.
Beyond "Like Him," I was also really impressed by other collaborations. The energy of "Rilla, Sexyy Red & Lil Wayne" is just infectious, and the track featuring Daniel Caesar again showcases Tyler's incredible ear for unexpected yet perfect pairings. Each feature truly brings something new to the table, enhancing the diverse soundscape of CHROMAKOPIA.
This album is a journey, challenging you to step outside your comfort zone, just like I did. If you haven't given it a full listen, or even if you have, I highly recommend diving deeper into its lyrics, visuals, and the sheer artistry of Tyler, The Creator. What are your standout tracks or moments that really hit you?
